Our story began in the 1940s at Trudy’s Flowers in downtown Naperville, where our roots in the flower business first took hold. Today, we carry that connection forward at Downers Grove Florist, helping our neighbors express love, celebrate milestones, and find comfort through flowers. From a thoughtful everyday bouquet to the flowers that mark life’s biggest moments, we’re proud to bring a personal touch to every occasion—and to share the next chapter of our story with the Downers Grove community.

1940s: Our Story Begins at Trudy’s Flowers

Our roots trace back to Trudy’s Flowers in downtown Naperville in the 1940s. That first shop laid the foundation for a floral journey that would grow to connect us with communities throughout the Chicago suburbs.

1970s: A Growing Reputation

As more customers turned to us for celebrations, thoughtful gifts, and moments of remembrance, our reputation grew. Each bouquet became an opportunity to build a relationship, with customers returning for the next birthday, anniversary, and family milestone.

1999: Growing into Lisle with Flowers of Lisle

Our story continued with the expansion into Lisle through Flowers of Lisle. This new chapter brought us closer to more neighbors, carrying forward the personal service and care that shaped our beginnings in Naperville.

2016: Welcoming Downers Grove, Hinsdale, and Burr Ridge

We continued to grow into Downers Grove, Hinsdale, and Burr Ridge, bringing our love of flowers to new communities. As our reach expanded, we kept our focus on making every order feel personal and every customer feel welcome.

2024–Today: More Than Six Locations, One Shared Commitment

By 2024, our family of flower shops had grown to more than six locations, serving communities throughout the Chicago suburbs. Today, we carry forward the same commitment that connects us to our beginnings at Trudy’s Flowers: thoughtful flowers, caring service, and a personal connection with our customers.
